Community Engagement
Southern Star partners with organizations and nonprofits that directly support enriching the lives of our communities. This includes sponsoring local events, engaging with chambers of commerce and providing support to populations in need.
Education & Workforce Development
Our team embraces fueling the next generation of industry leaders. This includes support for STEM education programs, career prep programs, engagement with youth organizations and hosting students for skills and industry training.
Environmental Stewardship
Southern Star remains focused on fostering a sustainable future for everyone by promoting sustainability in our communities. This includes support for local nature organizations, community parks and recreation and encouraging sustainable practice through tree planting.
Health and Service
Our team aims to give back to local organizations that enhance and support the well-being of our communities. This includes support for organizations providing mental and physical health services, housing assistance projects and local food and resource programs.
Public Awareness & Safety
Southern Star’s safety priority extends to our community outreach initiatives. This includes support to local emergency officials, domestic violence shelters and at-risk populations. Through our public awareness program, our team also promotes and shares safety and damage prevention information through local events and partnerships.
Veterans
Our team is dedicated to giving back to military service members who serve to protect our nation’s freedom. This support includes sponsoring events that benefit our service members and veteran-focused organizations.

This month, Southern Star team members are celebrating Women’s History Month by honoring the women who have influenced us.
Taylor Garrard, Business Process Analyst in Owensboro, KY, shared that one of her biggest inspirations is her grandmother, Judy. “She approaches every situation with kindness and warmth and has always encouraged me to share my dreams and ideas.”
Taylor said she aspires to offer that same safe space for others in life and encourage everyone to pursue their goals.
