Southern Star recognized for safety commitment at 2026 AGA Operations Conference

Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. received the 2025 Vehicular Safety Achievement Award and Accident Prevention Certificate at the 2026 American Gas Association (AGA) Operations Conference in April.

The Vehicular Safety Award recognizes companies with the lowest motor vehicle accident rates within their industry segments. Southern Star was the sole transmission company to receive this award.

The Accident Prevention Certificate is awarded to companies that achieve DART-incident rates below the industry average for their size in the industry. Southern Star was recognized alongside other industry peers.

This marks four-straight years that Southern Star has received AGA safety recognition, demonstrating the sustained commitment to safety excellence by the entire Southern Star team.

Craig Thomas, Director, Safety & Integrity in Owensboro, KY, said it takes each and every team member to achieve our safety goals as a company.

“Safety is always our top priority,” Thomas said. “Being recognized in our industry for safety excellence is a direct result of every team member making safety a focus no matter the task at hand.”

Thank you to AGA for this safety recognition and the entire Southern Star team for helping keep each other and our communities safe.
