Southern Star responding to pipeline strike in Joplin, MO

Joplin, MO – Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. – Southern Star is currently responding to a line strike that occurred Thursday afternoon, April 16, in the 6300 block of S Rangeline Road in Joplin, Missouri.

Southern Star immediately activated its emergency response plan and is currently investigating the event. There are no reported injuries.

As a safety precaution, a section of S Rangeline Road has been closed around the scene. Traffic is being re-routed as necessary by first responders. Power and natural gas outages may occur in the nearby area.

Safety is our top focus. Southern Star would like to thank local first responders for their assistance in responding to the event. Team members are committed to supporting local agencies to ensure the safety of our team, contractors, and local communities.
