Southern Star investigating natural gas leak at storage facility

(Grant County, Oklahoma) – Southern Star is currently responding to a natural gas leak at its Webb Storage Field located in Grant County near the Kay County line.

Team members detected the leak Tuesday afternoon and activated our response plan. While there are no public safety concerns at this time, safety is our top priority, and we are continuously monitoring gas levels in nearby areas as a precaution. Our crews are well-trained to handle this and are currently investigating the leak.

Southern Star representatives have informed nearby residents located in remote areas of Kay and Grant County of the leak. However, no gas has been detected in the areas around those residences. Our crews are monitoring for signs of natural gas until this event is resolved.

While our crews perform work in the area, nearby residents have been offered resources due to the inconvenience.

Southern Star is currently working with local officials for the event and appreciates their support.

Our team is committed to providing information to the public until the leak is resolved.
